A Cruise to the Galapagos Islands
The Galpagos Islands will always be famous for its amazing wildlife. The huge number of species drew the attention of Charles Darwin, who studied them and eventually used his observations to develop the theory of evolution by natural selection.
But you dont have to be a scientist to discover the beauty of the Galapagos. The name, which means saddle is derived from the shells of the saddlebacked tortoises, one of the archipelegos famous inhabitants. Aside from the curious creatures you will see therewhich youll be able to observe up close, without any cages, outside of the typical zoosyoull find yourself catching your breath as you enjoy the surroundings. The islands volcanic activity makes for spectacular sunsets (the thick air tends to reflect the light, leading to skies youd expect from a Van Gogh painting). Its very romantic, very exciting. You feel like an explorer, seeing the world when it was newly born.
One of the best ways to enjoy the treasures of the Galapagos is to take a cruise. You can wind around the archipelegos 13 main volcanic islands, the 6 smaller islands, the 107 rocks and islets, or even the newest additions to the Galapagos family: Isabela and Fernandina islands, formed in 2005 by a volcanic eruption.
This is the world at its most primal, its most pure. And while its not a place known for partying or mouthwatering cuisineyou can get that on your cruise ship, though, which will be as luxurious as any five star hotelits one of the most unforgettable trips youll ever take.
